Well the easiest way I know is to use "ffmepg -i <FILE>" which will
tell you what streams are in the recorded TS.

The extra audio streams can also cause problems with xvmc. So I've
hacked my myth to only record the first audio stream it finds. Not had
any problems with it so far...
