Also, I meant to mention that my Aquos has a serial port, which you  
can use to change channel & adjust the volume.

I don't think it allows you access to _every_ function of the TV -  
for instance, I don't think it'll wake it from standby, so you need  
to use the remote's "on" button - but you could certainly program  
myth to automatically change the TV to the correct input and set the  
volume to an appropriate level (I find different devices to be  
generally of different volumes - the Wii might be louder then the  
PS3, for example).

This might be an alternate answer to the "discrete channel button"  
advice offered by others.

I found my Aquos' serial function to be well-documented in the  
(hefty) manual, although (1) I haven't used it yet and (2) I'm not  
sure how easy it is to find that manual online.

However, this might be something worth considering. I don't think I'd  
pay £100 more for this sort of feature, but if I was otherwise torn  
between a choice of two other models then a serial port for remote  
power-on might be the tipping point. It would be nice when using Myth  
to *never* have to touch the telly's own remote.
