[mythtv-users] lircd don't start automatically

I can't seem to get this working with Fedora 8 either, so I have added 
these lines to /etc/rc.d/rc.local

/sbin/modprobe lirc_serial
/sbin/service lircd start

I use a DIY serial module, so replace with lirc_i2c if you use the 
Hauppauge remote receiver.
