[mythtv-users] HD playback is jumpy

Hi 
HD playback is jumpy on my mythtv box, despite having no problems in other apps. I am running ubuntu 7.10 with a dvico dual digital 4.
 
I remember someone posting here some setting that fixed it, but couldn't find it. Does anyone know how to fix this? I get about 3 seconds of play, then a freeze for about 0.5 seconds then another 3 seconds of play. It does not appear that the HDD nor CPU are being overloaded at all.
