[mythtv-users] Crash for channel not being broadcast

Hello all,

I recently upgraded the backend to 0.21 and am using the 0.21 PPC
frontend build from The Snider Pad. I was testing the frontend by
going to a few different channels, and it all worked, so I shut it
down. The backend has 2 x DVB-T tuners.

A couple days ago, we decided to watch some LiveTV (imagine that...)
and started Live TV. The frontend kept crashing. My partner
eventually pointed out that the programme called "Close" isn't
actually a programme, but that the channel wasn't being broadcast at
that moment, so something is crashing as the frontend is expecting a
video but isn't getting anything. Is this an existing bug, or should
I submit it?

Output from the backend is shown below.

Ukyo is the frontend running OS X 10.4, destiny is the backend running
Debian Etch

Note it says "TVRec(12): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV" then
quickly outputs "Finished recording Close: channel 1037" & note
"Expiring 0 MBytes for 1037 @ Thu Aug 7 07:00:00 2008 => Close".

Thanks very much for your time in advance!

Regards - Piers

I have same problem too. If I let livetv on, and channel stops
broadcasting, it easily crashes frontend and even backend. At least I
can't change channel anymore, but I must exit livetv and start it again.
Problem is, that it goes to same channel, and I must change channel very
quickly or it locks up again.
I have seen this behavior as long as I've been using mythtv (since 0.20
trunk)
