[mythtv-users] ITV HD Listings Data...

Hi list,

ITV have started publishing info on their website[*] about which
programs will also be broadcast in HD - not exactly shouting about it
though :-(

When I emailed them a few weeks ago pointing out that I didn't really
have the time to sit and wait for the "HD" logo to appear on the screen
and then "press the red button", they told me that they would be making
this data available to listings providers[**] - whatever that may mean
and also on the Freesat EPG. (I didn't bother to mention the fact that
I'd be hoping to record it anyway and hence skipping their ads ;-) )

I know someone on the list has a contact with the Radio Times XMLTV
people and I was wondering if there was any way we could get this info
fed through there and into either the HDTV column in the database or as
a separate channel so that we could get an ITV-HD channel in the
listings. I've had a quite look in the XML for the offending program,
but there is nothing that I can see marking it as also in HD.

Nothing has appeared on the Freesat EPG (that has been picked up my
MythTV) as far as I can tell, but I don't know where this would appear
really.

So does anyone know of some way we could find out what is going to be on
ITV HD without scraping their website, which doesn't look particularly
easy due to the way its done.

Or does anyone have any more info on this subject?

Robert.

That should take you to Sat 16th Aug 4pm. Click on "The Mummy Returns"
on ITV1 at 4:45pm and you'll see after the description "HD".

(I've set a manual record for this because so far I've not managed to
catch any programming on ITV HD at all despite having patched MythTV to
be able to play it!)

[**] Quote from the ITV Duty Office from 4th July:
"Our HD programmes are currently being finalised and in the coming
weeks it's planned to include 'Prog in HD' on the Freesat HD EPG as
well as in information supplied to listings' magazines."
