[mythtv-users] bbc hd olympics interlacer

Dear all,

I have an Athlon 64 X2Dual Core 6000+ and GeForce 8600 GTS with 2GB memory
running myth 0.21 as a frontend playing files from a backend over a 100Mb/s
LAN.

I recently got BBC HD working and it blows the socks off SD! However I am
noticing during the Olympics that the video is slightly jerky on the fast
panning shots. CPU usage is about 70% on both cores during playback (ffmpeg
set to use both cores), and I have tried various deinterlacers with varying
degrees of success, as well as trying the mpeg2 decoder instead of the
ffmpeg decoder. No deinterlacer makes the picture look jagged on my PC
monitor.

Is there an ideal setup of decoder/ deinterlacer for BBC HD on this
hardware, and does it matter whether I'm watching it on a TV or on a PC
monitor?

Many thanks for any help; very new to deinterlacing!

John
