There's a list of supported remotes and supported hardware on the home
page.

I use the streamzap remote on my AppleTV. Plugged in the USB receiver,
chose StreamZap from the IR config in Mythbuntu and it worked. I
modified the buttons to my tastes, but the default worked ok.
I think I paid $25 at Fry's for it.
That being said, the PVR-350 in my other frontend uses a remote just
fine as does the iMon VFD with remote receiver in my Zalman HD-160 box
(after installing their irserver/lcdproc software that replaces lirc).
