[mythtv-users] amino set top and mythTV noob

Hello Nisbus,

I will expand on my experiment I did before and hopefully explain why it
would be impossible to actually use that setup.

First of my service provider wont provide a DHCP IP address on their IPTV
network. So I hardcoded my myth box to use one that was not currently in
use.

That allowed me to snoop on the network traffic going to my amino box. So I
was able to figure out the udp addresses of the different channels.

While the amino box was watching a channel I could configure the mythTv IPTV
tuner to view that channel and that channel only.

When MythTV was watching a channel I could not change the channel on the
amino box. I could not change the channel on MythTV even if I unplugged the
amino box.

So all I did was prove that the MythTV IPTV tuner was compatible with my
service provider's system. But I could not use the mythTV IPTV tuner in
pratice.
