I took a quick look and it appears that Ron's right, there's a lot
still missing from the cvs lirc.

I didn't see that in the patch, either.

I haven't been quite happy with this part of the patch. I've been
trying to find some time to work on it, but failing miserably given
the constraints of job and family and the various other things
currently broken wrt my myth box. (My most recent upgrade has
not been particularly smooth. I think I got too close to the
bleeding edge with the Intel G45 chipset, but I digress.)

The pad doesn't quite feel right to use as the equivalent of arrow
keys. The tactile feedback is all wrong. It feels like a mouse and
when used with the stock HID driver works quite well.

Ideally, I'd like to see an iMon driver that makes this feature
optional, so that users who want to continue to use the pad as
a mouse can continue to do so. There's even a button on the remote
with a label for toggling mouse/keyboard mode for the pad.

(Again, I'm not trying to be critical of Ron's work. I think
he's done an excellent job both with the patch and documenting
how to use it.)
