Oh, and is it normal that the sound stremas get inverted in the
transcode process ?

Before transcode (as announced when the transcode starts)

2008-12-01 09:30:44.261 Stream #0.0[0xb02]: Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 704x576 [PAR 16:11 DAR 16:9], 10000 kb/s, 25.00 tb(r)
2008-12-01 09:30:44.261 Stream #0.1[0xb03](eng): Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 192 kb/s
2008-12-01 09:30:44.267 Stream #0.2[0xb05](eng): Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, mono, 64 kb/s

After transcode (as announced when the keyframe index generation starts
on the .tmp file)

2008-12-01 09:31:15.249 Stream #0.0[0x1e0]: Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 704x576 [PAR 16:11 DAR 16:9], 10000 kb/s, 25.00 tb(r)
2008-12-01 09:31:15.255 Stream #0.1[0x1c1]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, mono, 64 kb/s
2008-12-01 09:31:15.263 Stream #0.2[0x1c0]: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 192 kb/s

Does it mean that I will now get the mono soundtrack by default after a transcode?

I'm starting to wonder if those 20% savings are worth it after all...

Nico
