I believe that they do that so that after your kids watch it a hundred
of so times, it stops working, and they HAVE to have a new copy... Our
disney movies didn't get that much use... I watched them a few times,
but I wasn't allowed much TV time as a kid... we had 10 acres, and my
dad expected me to be out enjoying it. For that I am glad - I didn't
miss much good tv in the '80s anyway... and what I did miss is
starting to show up on DVD.
