Hi John/others,

I enabled the logging and this seems to coincide with the stutter issue:

2008-12-10 22:00:20.583 NVP: prebuffering pause
2008-12-10 22:00:20.584 NVP: Waiting for prebuffer.. 0 AAAAAAAAaAALLAAAA

slow), dropping frame to catch up.
2008-12-10 22:00:21.090 NVP: Video is 3.3045 frames behind audio (too

2008-12-10 22:00:21.389 NVP: Video is 3.4638 frames behind audio (too

2008-12-10 22:00:21.389 NVP: Video is 3.09785 frames behind audio (too
slow), dropping frame to catch up.
2008-12-10 22:00:21.660 NVP: Video is 3.26257 frames behind audio (too
slow), dropping frame to catch up.
2008-12-10 22:00:21.664 NVP: Video is 3.41567 frames behind audio (too
slow), dropping frame to catch up.
2008-12-10 22:00:21.665 NVP: 2400 interlaced frames seen.

Interestingly this wiki article describes the error and seems to suggest
that the wrong deinterlacer is being used ?!?! (Bottom of page "Note about
deinterlacers").

My setup has been stuttering ever since now and reboot does not cure it :(
changing to Basic 1x hw or None for deinterlacer gets rid of the stutter
but not the flickering vertical bars.

Cheers

Dave
