Hey,

The above is already set by mc.sql
$ cat mc.sql
cat mc.sql
CREATE DATABASE if not exists mythconverg;
GRANT ALL ON mythconverg.* TO mythtv at localhost IDENTIFIED BY "mythtv";
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
GRANT CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES ON mythconverg.* TO mythtv at localhost
IDENTIFIED BY "mythtv";
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
ALTER DATABASE mythconverg DEFAULT CHARACTER SET latin1;

The next thing to try is make sure that your current user is in the mythtv group
`sudo adduser $USER mythtv`
(or similar command for your distro)

This is also a great reference for a step by step walkthrough of the
entire process:
http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO.html

N.B. http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-9.html - The section
about mythtv-setup

It is also important that you leave the ip address in mythtv-setup as
127.0.0.1 unless you understand the ramifications of changing it.

cheers,
Owen.
