read all the text through to "Supported Drivers". There is a good
possibility that the API will add features that require the 9xxx that
the 8xxx doesn't have in hardware.

That said,

with MSI being a bit more of an established brand, both of which have
HDMI (along with DVI/DSUB) which is probably more useful if your
worried about VDPAU.
If for some reason you want S-Video they also have a few cards by
other established companies for less $$. You can also check Chiefvalue
and some other sites.
