Okay, killing the frontend is a easy one.  My wife/daughter could have
easily turned it off without first exiting to the main menu.
The training is continuing on this.  We are using LiveTV since there
is no cable output where the TV was moved to.  This made it really
easy since most of the time we watched recorded television.


That does not explain these issues though:

I should always be able to stop the recording.

Same as above.


I thought there would have been some sort of liveliness checking
between the frontend and the backend.  So if LiveTV is recording and
the frontend disappears, there really should be no reason to keep on
recording unless of course this is by design.
