[mythtv-users] Can't convince nvidia module 169.07 to load

I had a similar problem with my CentOS system when I
switched from a homemade 100.14.19 module to the
packaged 169.07 module (from atrpms).  The problem
turned out to be, at least in my case, that the
100.14.19 module was named 'nvidia.ko' and this was
getting loaded despite the alias.  The solution for me
was to remove the old nvidia module.

find /lib/modules/`uname -r` -name 'nvidia*'

Then depmod -a and reboot...
