Not exactly, that XP-M is not an "original" XP-M using any of the cores
of the athlon XP processors. It actually uses a modified Clawhammer
core; it is exactly the same as an Athlon64 otherwise, but with 64 bit
disabled. It's also not the same as a sempron because it has more cache.
They were first made in 2004 for HP for use in a few of their cheap
laptop lines including compaqs and the lower-end ZE5000's.
So it is pretty old, but in terms of generations, definitely not 5 back
unless you consider every stepping a new generation. But if you consider
it like Phenom->AthlonX2->Athlon64->AthlonXP, it's actually in the
Athlon64 gen, and three back at worst. Really AthlonX2 and single core
athlon64 are in the same architecture generation though, so it's one
back in that sense (the current gen being phenoms and on the intel side
core 2's).
Anyway, this type of XP-M is a much better performer than the older
"original" XP-M's.
