I pasted that into a new xorg.conf and have pretty much the same
behaviour. I noticed that when the DVD was jittery (or at least not
smooth), top indicates that the CPU is running between 40% and 60%,
when it is breaking up top indicates the CPU is running over 95%

Also and I think unrelated, it took about 5minutes to open the DVD
despite continous drive activity.
