[mythtv-users] MythMusic audio question

I've recently noticed some stuttering when I'm playing tracks in
Mythmusic (Gentoo ebuild 0.20.2_p14282).  I started tailing the
Mythfrontend log, and I find a bunch of these messages:

2008-02-10 10:49:39.810 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2008-02-10 10:49:42.024 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2008-02-10 10:49:44.242 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2008-02-10 10:49:47.482 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2008-02-10 10:55:00.871 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2008-02-10 10:55:09.668 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.

I get one of these every sing change, but it looks like I get one
every time the music stutters.  What could be causing this?
