Turns out I needed to have my time zone set to CST (Chicago) and not
GMT-6 which Myth apparently understood well enough to display the
correct "current time" but mythfilldatabase did not understand well
enough.

I'm thinking I should turn this is as a bug report since both should
work correctly.
