Happy New Year all,
I've got MythTV installed on CentOS 5.1 and I appear to be having some
problems with viewing live TV. I just get a blank screen. I've run
through the Wilson walkthru and the card is capturing, etc.
There are no errors with mythbackend, and there is an error on mythfrontend:
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
2008-01-01 12:30:41.941 Using the Qt painter
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
2008-01-01 12:30:42.419 Joystick disabled.
...
2008-01-01 12:32:29.150 TV Error: StartRecorder() -- timed out waiting for
recorder to start
2008-01-01 12:32:29.150 TV Error: LiveTV not successfully started
2008-01-01 12:32:29.159 TV: Deleting TV Chain in destructor
I've seen earlier threads on the issue, but didn't work for me. Is the
GLX error just noise or is that my problem? I'm running a nvidia RIVA
TNT2 Pro with the latest legacy nvidia drivers complied (71.86.01) and
installed.
The nvidia-settings applet shows that the GLX extension is not supported
by the X Server or the glx server info could not be obtained. I do have a
line in my xorg.conf a load "glx" in the module section (the only load
line). Anyone have any advice on the GLX question?
I'm having a heck of a time with my xorg.conf that I'm thinking it's just
hosed. The KDE Display applet can't seem to be able to edit it. And
right now X can't let me get anything above 800x600 resolution. Is there
a way I can just get a 'default' xorg.conf back?
I would REALLY appreciate some suggestions on how I can dig myself out of
this mess.
Corey.
