If you have a lot of RAM, you could configure it to a ramdisk filesystem,
several options to choose from.
But for HD, you need to figure 6-7 GB per hour.  So even a pretty beefy
machine might get 10 minutes buffered.  Try it, but I doubt you
will like it in the long-run...
