No. It appears to the computer as a keyboard. You can run the program
xev to see what the keycodes are. I also found some of the keys
(channel up/down I think) do not work.

Actually, does anyone know how I might disable this remote control? I
don't want to unplug it, as it is useful for letting me turn the
computer on from the couch, but I've got the remote working with a
different IR receiver (via lirc), and with both receivers working,
it's doubling a lot of key presses.

on Chris' work, but a little clearer. Hopefully it will soon be
obsolete :)
