If you are hardware capturing into MPEG-2, have you tried 4500/6000
settings for video. That should allow enough overhead to fall within
your bandwidth constraints, and provide more than adequate video
quality.

You might also want to look into forcing your wireless to use a slower
transfer speed (e.g. 40/48Mbps) which might provide a more reliable
high-speed connection.
