Thanks for the pointer, Stuart. I'll try the included script, though 
I get the feeling I'll have to modify it quite a bit to deal with my 
storage groups correctly.

I guess the better question is: has there been any serious discussion 
about fixing mythtranscode? I searched the dev and users lists and 
couldn't find anything relevant, aside from a mention that perhaps it 
may not be possible due to limitations of the MP4 format.
