Oh Geoff blow it out your butt.

Show me a bit torrent client developer who has been sued??

Not someone who was sued as a suspected downloader.

Isaac is the reason why Myth-TV development hasn't been as successful as
say something like Asterisk.

Cheers,

Dean

And since there are no penalties here for 'piling on', I will add,
again, what has been stated before: the RIAA and MPAA will not be suing
your ass off if they ever get the idea that mythtv facilitates illegal
downloading. They will be suing Isaac and the other devs. No matter that

mythtv *by itself* fits clearly within a legal safe haven. If mythtv
however, has (or even has the capability of) facilitated illegal
downloads, the devs are the ones who will get sued. The RIAA sued a lady

called Anderson, on no evidence at all, and eventually dropped the claim

in an attempt to bury the matter. She counterclaimed for her damages,
being her legal fees and was asking for about $140,000 IIRC. THAT IS
WHAT IT COST HER. She did not get that amount back by an award from the
Court.

Are YOU going to step up and put your money on the line if the devs get
sued?

This mailing list is not a public soapbox. If you want to spout on one
of those you can run for Parliament or Congress and get treated with
the respect most of us reserve for all politicians. Or you can set up
your own list and talk about whatever you want.

In the meantime, the devs do not want to be dropped into a quagmire not
of their making.

Geoff
