...because that import method also comes with an export method built in.

That's the key problem with BitTorrent in general.

The unwashed masses don't realize that they are setting up their
own equivalant of an ftp server when they are using it to download
something. It's the same sort of situation that led to that woman
having a 200K judgement handed down against her over some 20 year
old Journey song and it's friends.

Whether or not she realized it or not she was putting up a big fat
"kick me sign" in orange neon. She was drawing attention to herself
and drawing the wrong sort of attention. Even if everything the was
doing was "perfectly legal" that's still not a good idea.

It's like dangling a prairie dog on a string right in a Lions face.

Not every protocol comes with the big "eat me" sign included.
