Just catching up on my 2000+ emails (I haven't read the list in a while)
I do all my recording on a 2.4ghz P4 with a pair of pinnacle HDTV PCI
cards. I don't know about the frontend (I have it loaded, but almost
never use it) but if I copy the file (mythweb over wireless) to my
laptop, and play it using VLC, I have no problems with Jeopardy HD. I
haven't tried anything else as of yet.
My laptop is a Powerbook G4 1.33ghz with 1gb ram running Leopard 10.5.4.
I know it had no trouble playing back SD over the 802.11g wifi in
mythfrontend (0.21) but again, have never attempted to play any of the
HD in the frontend (I rarely, usually only to transfer huge files,
plug into the ethernet)
So, for what it's worth, your G5 should be more than capable of
playing the HD content.
