My TVs (Both Toshibas of some model) have the RCA inputs that are labelled something like 
PC/HDMI1.

I need to (did it this evening moving the Mac Mini from DVI->VGA to DVI->HDMI) tell the TV 
which of the inputs these apply to.

Otherwise I can have sound with a blank screen, or picture with no sound.  Check on the back 
to see if any of the other audio inputs are labeled HDMI, otherwise you may need to go into 
the menus to change it.
