Can you connect to the remote MySQL server from the command line on
the new frontend?

$ mysql -h 192.168.1.6 -u mythtv mythconverg -p

Do your ~/.mythtv/mysql.txt and/or ~/.mythtv/config.xml files contain
the correct DB access information?

Does your new frontend have privileges to connect to the database?
