A 'video source' contains a list of channels received through the same
capture card input. So, if you have a DVB-T card with a single RF
input, and you receive both TV and radio signals through the input,
you require the channels to all be assigned to the same videosource.
Some confusion can arise because the EIT scanner is internal to
MythTV, and can be used in conjunction with an external listings
provider like XMLTV /on the same videosource/. The key is to flag
channel appropriately to use /either/ the EIT scanner, or the XMLTV
