One note, the gcc version I referenced was incorrect. I built it on
my MacBook Pro, which has build 5484 - the latest iPhone dev kit.

I agree. In general it is difficult to track the OS X version, what's
changing, what is upcoming in 0.22, etc.

It compiled straight from the osx-packager.pl script, without
modification. In the past, I also had to interrupt the process and
apply patches to fix mmx, update urls, etc. But, in the current
iteration it built the frontend with no interaction. It did fail
while trying to build the backend (looking for the firewire sdk).

One step that is probably important is to use the most recent version
of the packager script. That way the download URLs should be up to
date. I just grab the latest version via wget or curl:

wget http://svn.mythtv.org/svn/branches/release-0-21-fixes/mythtv/contrib/OSX/osx-packager.pl

No, sorry I don't have any DVDs as ISOs.
