No, it didn't work very well, frankly. DVB-T doesn't really have the bandwidth to handle HD. But the real reason they're switching over is that DVB-T2 can carry a lot more data on the same amount of spectrum - giving room for more channels (and of course, HD needs more anyway). It's all about revenue.
