just updated a fe/be, two remote fe and mythweb from atrpms without a hitch. 
done in about 15 minutes.

also, in reply to the previous poster...  i'm not sure which remote you use, 
but many of the drivers in the lirc kmdl have been incorporated into the 
upstream kernel.  depending on the remote, you may not need the kmdl package 
anymore.
