Just to second the recommendation for the M$ MCE remote.  I have three of
them - all working on Fedora frontends - an eclectic assortment including an
Apple Mac mini, and two old laptops.  The drivers are now built into the
kernel, so it's now a matter of yum install lirc (and lirc-devel if you're
compiling) and it 'just works'.  Mine have been rock solid, and the M$
remote is pretty well designed with a good key layout for Myth.
