G’day,
Well I’ve been searching through the archives without luck. So thought i
would have a shot at asking!

I’m in the process of building a new FC8 system, using 0.21 (BE/FE), a
dvico dual digital 4 card, 500gb sata drive, 4gb RAM, and intel i915
graphics card (the type that grabs some of the physical memory).

The relevance of the video card might be my problem, I’m not sure yet.

I have configured the DVB card in setup, and mythfilldatabase is pulling
all of the program guide data no worries. Channel scans go through and
detect all of the channels required.

As soon as i start viewing live tv, it takes approx 3 seconds for the
first frame of the current program to show up, and then from there the 2nd
frame about 10 seconds later. Things don’t really go anywhere from here

Nothing glaringly obvious is showing up in the backend log, though this is
about the only eronous thing i can spot:

I know that this complete system does work, as i was previously using it
on mythdora 4, except on a different pata HDD

Dmesg doesn’t show any problems when i run dmesg | grep dvb

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where i can go from here? The only
things im down to is a configuration problem, or possibly a video card
driver issue (ive got no idea where to even start looking for this!!!)

Cheers

Martyn
