He's saying that streaming from the backend wouldn't necessarily tie  
the player to the internal player since mplayer (and probably others)  
could read video from whatever the backend sends. I imagine it's  
possible, but would take extra work that would be better spent getting  
the internal player up to the task of playing all the videos.
