[mythtv-users] Mythtv V0.21 - Problems FFing or Rewinding mpg files using Internal player

Hi,

I'm having problems using FastForward or Rewinding mpg videos using the Internal video player in Mythtv 0.21. They seem to play OK then if I FF using the '>' key 3X is OK but as soon as I press again the OSD shows X5, the video freezes for a second then drops back to the MythVideo gallery and that's it. Rewind is equally unstable. I've tried just about everything I can think of, video resolution, changing nvidia settings in xorg.conf, playing with the new playback profiles etc etc. At the moment I can play videos using mplayer (which seems to work perfectly) but I'd like to use the Internal player for adjustable FF and editing etc.

I'm running Mythbuntu on Gutsy using Mythtv 0.20 upgraded via backports to 0.21. Hardware is AMD X2 64 proc, 1G RAM and Nvidia GeForce 7200GS graphics card.

Here's the relevant excerpt from the Frontend log file:

There seems to be a buffer underrun just before the video stops - is this a bug or a config problem with my setup.

BTW 0.21 seems much more stable with my setup than 0.20 - thanks to all the developers for their hard work.

Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
