Up until 0.20 only the mpeg-4 modes were supported. There was  
something here recently about support for the other modes but I'm not  
sure if it's in the "straight" 0.21 or a newer branch.

You could transcode to mpeg-2 after recording if you;re not in a big  
hurry to view it.
