So it should have recorded the program if the LiveTV question timed out.
Looking at the log I can see:

2008-03-31 00:59:29.334 TVRec(12): ASK_RECORDING 12 29 0
2008-03-31 01:00:02.372 Started recording: The Shield "Haunts": channel
1131 on cardid 12, sourceid 1

So it claims to have changed the channel and started the recording but
it actually didn't. It just kept on recording on the same channel. I'm
using a PCHD5500 so maybe there is some weird interaction there or just
a bug. Also I would have expected it to switch to the unused tuner
instead of just stopping the LiveTV but if the default had worked it
would have OK. So what's the best way to figure out why it didn't do
what it claimed it was doing?

Thanks

John
