[mythtv-users] Controlling myth from the deck

I still think my vnc idea is the best for you. It's so easy and the pda's
can be had for $100 to $150. Way cheaper than a nokia N810 which is like
$400 or so.

Plus, the vnc advantage is that you get to see exactly what is on the screen
of your mythbox, even if it's playing live video (it just won't be super
smooth playback, but you'll see the images changing).

Works great for me for music, as I have speakers out in the patio by the
backyard and the mythbox is in the living room. Easily visable outside too,
and you can power it off and put it in your pocket so you don't accidently
change the channel/song/etc.

You can even run a myth image slideshow and it'll show up nice on the pda. I
don't see how you can beat it.

My neighbour has some speakers like that. I wish I had a way to control
them.
