Point 1: You can use a program called unclutter to set the time to blank the
mouse after inactivity. Not a myth integrated solution, but super simple,
and it works. Unclutter is a super simple program that uses almost no system
resources.

Point 3: I agree...this has happened to me before, and I have to manually
switch to progressive. Myth should have a setting for this. No idea on a fix
though, sorry.
