You don't need to install the kmdl with this kernel, I'm using the same 
kernel without the kmdl and it works fine. ivtv has been merged into the 
kernel so you shouldn't need the kmdl, it's already included.

So try rebooting or loading ivtv by modprobe ivtv and see if everythings 
works if it should....
