Now that's interesting. I've always used time stretch in this manner.
When I first play a recording, time stretch is off and the recording
plays at 1X. If I want to skip over a part of the playback, I'll hit
the REC button my Harmony (which is mapped to either "A" or "END" on
the keyboard, "TOGGLE TIME STRETCH" in MythTV), and the playing will
now proceed at 1.5X.

I can't remember when time stretch was first introduced. But that's
the way I've been using it since it first made it into MythTV (0.18?).

My backend is Fedora 8 with atrpms; and my frontend is Xebian-1.1.4.

You've got my curiousity. When I get home I'm going install a few
frontends and see if that's the way it works on those too.
