How do I do it in Mythbuntu 8.04? I got so fed up and frustrated with
the video driver issues in 8.10 that I just nuked the box and put 8.04
back on. Now it comes up as DHCP, and when I go into the Network
Manager (under "Applications->System->Network") and configure the Wired
Connection there, it doesn't take. I have to select Unlock then I
configure it, but it appears that the IP I assign doesn't get assigned.
If I right click on the Network icon on the top right, the "Connection
Information" menu item is grayed out. From a terminal, I type "sudo
ifconfig" and the static IP I assigned doesn't show up for eth0. If I
ping the IP, it says "network unreachable".
Thanks,
Harry
