If you feel like spending an afternoon or two and ~$15 us you can build
a pretty good antenna. It is not great down in the VHF range (US
Channels 3-13), but many of the ATSC channels are in UHF range. If you
have some suitable wire lying around (some people use 12/2 Romex
household wire) you could probably build an antenna for ~$0.

I don't know much about the antenna in the link you posted, but I have
one that looks surprisingly similar (might even be the same one) that I
would give away if it hadn't found itself in the trash long ago.
