[mythtv-users] Future cablebox firewire output to be replaced by ethernet?

I heard at a local bestbuy that new cableboxes will be replacing the
firewire output with Ethernet.  The salesperson was confident that the new
boxes will allow streaming HD content out to a PC over Ethernet.

 

I know we can do this using firewire, but has anyone heard about this over
Ethernet?  I suspect I might have been dealing with an idiot....
