OMG, is this thing a MESS!!!! I had it working for literally 5
minutes. When I got that message about running in low-graphics mode, I
clicked Configure, then chose the ATI Radeon fglrx open source driver,
then rebooted. It came up fine, ran mythfrontend, and when I went into
LiveTV, both Analog and Digital played fine (no sound, but that's
next!). The video looked great.

All fixed? Nope. Here comes the mess. Ubuntu put up some alert about
having drivers that aren't supported by ubuntu and wanted me to download
something. Unfortunately, I did and told it to overwrite a few files
that it asked me about ("over write <xxx> with the version that the
package maintainers use" type of thing). Now when it comes up after a
reboot, I get a blank screen

I looked at /var/log/messages, and I get a message stating the following:

Oct 20 19:52:05 hdevine-desktop kernel: [ 25.992574] fglrx: module

Here's the "Device" section of my xorg.conf:

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Configured Video Device"
        Boardname "ATI Radeon (fglrx)"
        Busid "PCI:1:5:0"
        Driver "fglrx"
        Screen 0
        Vendorname "ATI"
EndSection

All seems to look OK and I didn't see any errors in
/var/log/Xorg.0.log. How can I go about backing out all of the video
drivers and starting from scratch?

Thanks,
Harry
