[mythtv-users] Mythbackend not starting up on boot (w/log)

Depends on what shell you are using, but it's usually something like

export <enviornment variable>=<value>

You just type that command into your current shell and it will stick  
around until you close the Terminal window. If you always want it set,  
stick it in one of your shell startup scripts.
